Press release

The Fairfield Arts Council (FAC) opens its newest solo exhibition, Climate of Uncertainty, on Friday, September 12, 2008 with a reception that evening from 6—8 p.m. The exhibition, which showcases drawings, paintings and prints by artist Ronnie Rysz, will run through Oct. 31, 2008. A brown bag lunch is planned for Thurs., Oct. 2,. from 12:30—1:30 p.m. at FAC.

Rysz states, "My imagery addresses class division. I do not only cite social and economic dichotomies, but also discuss the loss of morality." The artist's commentary is accentuated by the precision of his drawing, where crisp outlines combine with exaggerated facial expressions to create sardonic discourses between his characters. The dark energy of his paintings highlights the tense emotional state of debutantes, tycoons and politicos as they attempt to climb over one another in a frenzy to steal the attention of the audience.

Laura G. Einstein, curator at Fairfield Arts Council states, "Ronnie's use of humor is both sarcastic and cynical, yet maintains a playful tone and is really quite hilarious. I believe that Ronnie has a sense of reality that is all too familiar to each of us as we confront the ever present virtual breakdown of traditional human interaction."

This exhibition is sponsored by R.D. Weiss.
